Whisky Bay
After
a weekend photographic workshop (and only a few hours sleep) I
finally rocked up to Wilson's Prom for the first time. I had planned
to walk to Oberon Bay but decided that I was too tired even for that
and slept in the car in the carpark of Whisky Bay.
I awoke to a sunny morning and the sound of lots of birds. It was
only a short walk down to the beach and today it was all mine.
Despite all of the beautiful scenery I wasn't really in the mood for
taking lots of photographs, I was just enjoying the scenery for a
change in this very peaceful setting.
Whisky Bay, like most at Wilson's Prom, has a wide, flat with
marvelous granite boulders at either end. This is the stuff
postcards are made of and just around the corner is another
postcard......
![[ wilsons_prom002 ]](images/wilsons_prom002.jpg) The
birds have become quite accustomed to humans and even the normally
shy superb blue wrens would dart around the table while I was
eating, one even daring to sit on my shoulder and head. While I had
put out some crumbs for them, they had obviously developed a taste
for good food and when it came to desert (chocolate teddy bear
biscuits and coconut cream, I almost had to fight them off.
I dawdled through breakfast (OK so it was brunch but I did get up
early to take a few photos) and watched groups of people drive up,
walk to the beach, return 10 - 15 minutes later and drive off to the
next location.
