Mt McKay

This photograph was taken on the NE side of Damstie Hill showing the southern slopes Mt McKay which is home to the rare Mountain Pigmy Possum. Much of this photograph will be excluded from the Alpine National Park for the sole purpose of expanding the Falls Creek Ski Resort.

Taken on the same day as the first photograph, this photograph from Rocky Knobs also includes Mt McKay (far left). This is what Falls Creek Ski Resort looks like in summer. Ski runs require most of the vegetation to be removed so that people can start skiing as soon as possible. The extra snowfall required to cover existing vegetation would greatly reduce the ski season.
