Moora Moora Falls

[ gramp021 ] The Mt Rosea Track used to cross the Moora Moora Creek just above an unnamed waterfall but has been redirected along a much more suitable route. I found this waterfall simply by looking for waterfalls on the map and was intrigued that such a high waterfall had no name. The waterfall is at the head of a long deep gorge, of which there are good views from the track on the northern edge but the waterfall remains hidden unless you go looking for it.

[ gramp017 ] As with most waterfalls in the Grampians the catchment is fairly rocky and the creek is usually low enough to walk along the rocks in its bed. A few small cascades and rock pools provide refreshing bathing in summer if you don't mind the small native fish having the odd nibble on your legs.
