Boronia Peak

[ gramp059.jpg ]Boronia Peak is a relatively short walk and begins very close to Halls Gap, yet despite this it is often overlooked by many people who automatically head off into the Wonderland area. The views from this peak are excellent, looking across the east to Langi Ghiran and the Pyrenees as well as unique angles south and north along Serra and Mt Difficult ranges giving you a good feel for the shape of these mountains.

[ gramp060.jpg ]This view looking back across Halls Gap shows the eastern edge of the Mt Difficult Range with fog to the east that extended all the way across to the Pyrenees.

While it may be a short walk it should also be noted that it is reasonably steep in sections, which has surprised many 'more senior' walkers who start the walk because of it's short length and proximity to Halls Gap. It is also well known at the Stawell Hospital for the occasional heart attack sufferer who gets sent to them.
