Sacred Heart Cathedral
Bendigo
Bendigo
was a rich gold mining town during the gold rush of the late 1800's and
much of it's architecture reflects the wealth during this era. Perhaps the
most stunning example is the Sacred Heart Cathedral located on a hill overlooking
the city (surprise, surprise). Unlike many country churches which are
often blue stone, the creamy sandstone of this cathedral provides a
beautiful contrast with the blue skies and late afternoon light.
I've photographed this cathedral a few times, and finally
got around to shooting some spherical panoramas. Come
on in and have a look around....
