Snakes

The main dangerous snakes you are likely to encounter in Victoria are the tiger, brown and black snakes. You can find them almost anywhere, including in urban areas. In 13 years of bushwalking I have come across 5 snakes in Victoria and all but one disappeared before I could get my camera out. They're pretty shy creatures and to get bitten you've practically got to stand on one or annoy the hell out of it. If you see a snake, look at it and leave it alone.
